John Green, for three years a justice of the peace at Alvin, and a resident continuously for 53 years of the southern part of Ross Twp., died
Monday morning of a complication, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Allison.
Mr. Green, was born in Miltown, Ireland, on Aug. 15, 1844 and came to Verm. Co. with his parents when he was 13 years old.
He had lived on a farm almost all his life and when he retired from active work, he was elected justice of peace.
He was one of the prosperous farmers of the southern part of Ross Twp. and for a number of years was active in political affairs, but had never held office until he was elected a magistrate, Nothing is known as to arrangemnts for the funeral. Burial will be in cemetery at Alvin.
The funeral of magistrate John Green, who died Monday at the home of his duaghter, Mrs. Mary Allison, at Alvin, will be held from the Allison residence, Wed. afternnon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Halman of Hoopeston, will officiate and burial will be in the cemetery at Alvin.
