Sgt. Joseph Wilson, 23, of Indiana has been on active duty after being in the Individual Ready Reserve Component of the Army National Guard, for over two years. He completed medic refresher classes and extensive training. Joe is now deployed to Iraq, for duty time of approximately one year. He is attached to the HHC2-121st Infantry, 48th Brigade, out of Albany, Georgia. Once he comes home he will continue his job as a firefighter/paramedic and will still be eligible to be called to active duty until November of 2007. Joe is married to my niece Jenni.

Dear Lord,

Give me the greatness of heart to see the difference between duty and his love for me.
Give me a task to do each day, to fill the time when he is away.
When he is in a foreign land, keep him safe in your loving hand.
And, when duty is in the field, please protect him and be his shield.
And Lord, when deployment is so long, please stay with me and keep me strong.
